About Women's Fit Way
Women's Fit Way is a strength and conditioning program designed to
help all women become healthier, stronger, and fitter individuals.
Why did I create Women's Fit Way?
- I hate that my own mother has lost 14% bone density because she lived a nearly sedentary life until she was 53 years old.
- I hate that over 1/3 of all Americans are obese. (Obesity puts you at a higher risk for stroke, heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and many more life threatening diseases.
- I hate it when people do not workout as they should because they cannot afford CrossFit classes and/or strength and conditioning personal training courses.
- I hate being one of the only females who lifts weights at my local gym.
- I hate the gender separation in the gym (females=cardio, males=weight lifting.)
- I hate it when my female clients say, "Oh, but I couldn't do that," and "But, wait-won't I get bulky from lifting weights?"
- I hate the "weaker sex" stereotype.
- I hate male intimidation and physical domination over women.
- Mainly, I hate 'hating' without action-So I decided to do something about it!
What is Women's Fit Way?
Women's Fit Way is a strength and conditioning program specifically designed to achieve the following objectives:
- Improved body composition-you will look better naked
- Increased strength
- Increased metabolic conditioning ("cardio" ability)
- Increased bone density
- Lower risk of diseases caused by obesity
- Improved body image
- Increase quality of life through fitness and health
This program achieves these goals in three stages (Sexy Ladies, Pretty Women, and Confident Cougars).
In the Beginners Sexy Ladies program, you learn how to do each exercise properly and you begin to learn
how to be "intense" (move quickly) during workouts. Within the first two weeks of beginning this
program, you will notice fat loss and you will feel your muscles "tightening" up while you begin to
lose inches.
**** If you have never worked out before, or have a very minimal level of fitness, start with the beginner program.
In the Intermediates Pretty Women program, you should already have an idea about proper form, and will work toward
perfecting your form. You will also focus on doing workouts faster with greater intensity. Once here, the added
volume in this program will help you develop the muscular strength and cardio endurance needed to eventually
progress onto the Confident Cougars Program.
****If you have some experience with working out, but have never learned proper form or how to be "intense"
during workouts, start with the intermediate program.
In the Advanced Confident Cougars program, you learn how to properly and safely lift weights. Your body will
look better at this stage than ever before and you will be pushing yourself to limits you have never previously
reached. In this stage, your metabolic conditioning intensifies and you begin a linear progression strength
training program (see article on LP HERE); this is the most effective way for novice lifters to gain real
strength and muscle in a short amount of time.
****If you are extremely experienced with the movements done in this program, are comfortable with intense
workouts, and feel you are ready to lift real weights (perhaps you followed a CrossFit program in the past),
then you should start with the advanced program.
In this program, we use functional, compound movements performed at a high intensity to prepare women for
their everyday challenges and beyond. There are also health challenges women commonly face like bone
density loss. Strength training (specifically squat and deadlift exercises) increases bone density,
which can prevent or delay the onset of osteoporosis. Finally, this program is designed to promote
positive mental changes for women.
As a woman's strength and conditioning coach in a variety of different contexts, I have seen first hand
how exercise acts as a positive outlet for everyday challenges in careers, family relations, and even one's
love life. (Speaking of love-, the hot-bod and new found confidence that will develop while you follow this
program never hurt any one!)
How do I know this strength and conditioning program works? This program was developed for and by
women just like you! When I began my own strength and conditioning journey, I was very intimidated by the
program. I had no prior experience as an athlete, and I had never picked up a barbell before. Only men use
those scary looking things, right?
I had to learn everything as I went. I did not go to a personal trainer (and couldn't afford one at
the time) so I was forced to watch tutorial videos and read hundreds of articles about how to do new
exercises. Looking back, my entry into lifting was quite a time consuming and confusing process.
Now, I follow a structured lifting and conditioning programming 5 days a week (yes-the same one posted
on this website), and I am no longer intimidated, scared, or confused by those freaky looking barbell
things. In fact, I cannot imagine life without a barbell and get incredibly excited about hitting new
lifting PRs (Personal Records)! I must admit that I really do not think I would have ever stuck with my
strength and conditioning program if not for the training/form tips and encouragement from my boyfriend.
Well ladies, although you may not have a super knowledgeable and supportive boyfriend (who will
eventually get tired of talking about fitness with you and tell you to talk about other topics as
well-true story!!) you have something better!! WOMEN'S FIT WAY. We will be here with you every step
of the way, from your first air squat to your 100th squat PR. We will never get tired of answering
questions, helping you with form/technique, or providing the extra encouragement you need to stick
with this program.
Through the video tutorials, testimonials, articles, comments, and support found on this site, I promise
you-you will have all the encouragement you need to be the best, fittest you ever!
