80% of your body composition is determined by what you eat.
Yep, you read right. And just in case you didn't: If you do not eat properly, you will NOT reach your weight loss, strength, or health goals. Okay, now that I've got that out there right away, lets talk about what that statement means to us here at Women's Fit Way.
All women were not made alike, therefore, not all women should eat alike. It would be easy for me just to say, "Eat CLEAN." While that may work for some, it may not work for you. Your diet should be determined by your goals. What I want you to do right now is think very carefully about what your goals are today. To make this simple, I will give you a few different scenarios (of course there are many more, these are just the most common.) If you do not fall into one of the below categories, feel free to contact me and we will talk more about what you should do:
Is your primary focus to lose fat, pounds, and inches while gaining some muscle/strength?
You fall into this category if you are primarily looking to lose fat and get that rock hard "cut" look? Are you happy with your weight and size, but would just like to be a healthier individual?
Is your primary focus to get healthy and MAINTAIN your current strength/weight/body composition?
Fat loss may be nice, strength gain would be nice, but neither is as important to you as just overall good health and maintaining your body composition.
Are you average weight or "skinny" already, but are looking to finally get that "beach body" you've always been hoping for?
You are here if your weight is at a fairly stable level that you are happy with, but you are not as muscularly defined or as strong as you would like to be. You may be "skinny fat right now." If you are not necessarily fat but also don't have the "beach body" that you want, chances are you do not need focus on fat loss to get your perfect body.
You should instead think about gaining muscle mass which will in turn help you lose those few extra pounds of fat. In
doing so, you may stay at the same weight-130lbs, but your body composition will change entirely!! (This is what
happened to me. In fact, since I started strength and conditioning training via the linear progress + conditioning
workouts
(SEE THE COUGARS STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING PROGRAM ON MY SITE), I actually have GAINED 5 lbs, but I am LEANER, HEALTHIER, STRONGER, and I FINALLY have the "beach body" I've been trying to get since high school!)
***NOTE: This is where I expect you to be if you follow the advanced program, "
Cougar Program" on my site.
